Shaving oil helps to lubricate the beard while you
shave. Shaving oils help to prevent nicks, cuts and
razor rash, they are designed to be used during
a wet shave but can also be used to enhance an electric
shave. Many shaving oils contain moisturising
properties to help protect and condition your skin
during and after shaving.
Whichever oil you choose to use the basic way to use it
will remain similar.
The best way to shave is after your shower, when you
beard will have softened in the steam. Then make
sure the area you want to shave is thoroughly wetted
with warm or hot water. Massage the shaving oil
thoroughly into the area you are going to shave. Make
sure you have a decent, clean, sharp blade then shave
slowly using short strokes, rinsing the blade often in
hot water. It is best to shave with the grain in the
direction of the hairs growth, if you go against the
grain then do so at the end and only if you have to. As
always it is best to check the directions of each
individual product to make sure you are getting the most
out of it.
When you have finished shaving it is best for your skin
if you follow the shave by washing with a face wash,
rinse and pat dry with a clean towel. Then complete the
experience by applying a facial moisturiser. For
